Botox is an exciting procedure used to weaken certain muscles, to produce a more relaxed look .

Botox is purified protein produce by bacteria (Colstridium botulinum). The effects of these proteins produced by this bacterium have been known for decades, but not until the 1980s were the proteins found to be therapeutically valuable.

Botox injected into a muscle in very small amounts, works by blocking the nerves ability to activate this muscle. This produces a long-term relaxation of the affected muscle. The relaxed affect will last for several months, and is not permanent. Therefore, to maintain the beneficial affect, further treatments may be desired.
